46, on no meds, perimenapuasal, with uterus, beginning estrasorb & prometrium (micronized progesterone). should i use them both daily for best relief of menopausal symptoms?

Follow the Rx!: The estrogen cream is usually used every day for relief of such symptoms as hot flashes. Progesterone pills (such as prometrium) do not relieve symptoms. They are often used for only part of the month (most often 12-14 days) just to protect the lining of the uterus from too much stimulation from the estrogen. Estrogen alone can cause excess thickening of the lining or even polyps or cancers.
