Fluid: Sounds like you may have fluid in the ear canal or eustacian tube (connects inner ear to nasopharynx). Try a decongestant (oral or spray) to open the canal and allow the fluid to drain. If the opening/closing feeling is accompanied by pain, you may want to have a dr check you for an ear infection.
