High hscrp: This is a marker of the presence of inflammation in your body and I would look for evidence of inflammatory disorders. If none, check for precursors of cardiovascular disease such as elevated cholesterol, LDL and triglycerides as well as insulin resistance or metabolic syndrome. Diet and medications to treat hyperlipidemia would be prescribed if needed. Some would recommend daily low dose aspirin.

Risks of treating : Numbers. The workup should be and is dictated by clinical context and not by isolated random abnormal lab values. The diagnosis is formulated around symptoms and clinical findings on the exam and supported by lab values.
