Scleral injury: A Scleral (white of the eye) injury does not usually require any intervention, unlike a corneal (clear lens over pupil and iris) injury which requires urgent examination and treatment. It may be prudent to have him examined at an urgent care just to make sure his cornea is not involved. Bacteria and fungi can infect an abraded cornea within 24 hrs and cause a sight threatening infection.
