I got a root canal done two weeks ago. i went to see an oral surgeon and he saw a suspicious area under the affected tooth today after doing a 3d scan he said he thinks it's related to the root canal, come back in 6 months should i get a second opini?

Suspicious Lesion: Why did you see the oral surgeon? Were you in pain? Were you referred? The "lesion" may just be a residual infection from the tooth which needed the root canal. It may even be a cyst. If an infection, it should resolve over time. If a cyst it will not change or it might grow slightly. The oral surgeon appears to want to proceed with any treatment only if necessary.

Lesion: Oral Surgeons don't do Root Canal. Why did you see him/her? Are you still having symptoms? Who did the Root Canal? Return to treating Dentist for re-evaluation and possible referral to an Endodontist, a root canal specialist. If you are totally symptom free, let Oral Surgeon re-evaluate in 6 months.
