A member asked:

Why does the dmd or dds start the root canal on a tooth, then send you to an endo surgeon to complete the process, ?

You sure?: An endodontist should be doing the root canal, a to z, unless there is something unusual that needs unique attention. There is some confusion here; speak with both before i do!

Complicatios: A general dentist might start a root canal and then encounter a complication that requires completion by an endodontist. Often, the root canal is started in order to provide pain relief for the patient until they can have tooth treated completely by specialist.
