MVP: Mild MVP should pose no extra risk for covid19 infection, but there is slightly more susceptibility of developing supraventricular tachyarrythmias with high fever and/or factors which cause increase in heart rate as people with MVP have a higher incidence of atrial irritability.

COVID 19: Valve regurgitation or stenosis, or moderate to severe prolapse are risk factors for severe COVID 19 illness. It is not known if mild mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is a significant risk factor.
