Mitral valve: In general, mitral valve prolapse that is only mild and not symptomatic is not considered a significant underlying health condition. However, if it is more severe, it could be. One way to have an idea is if your dentist has asked you to take oral antibiotics before dental procedure. Many patients with that level of mitral valve disease are considered to have significant underlying condition.

Covid: Underlying mitral valve prolapse is not a risk factor for covid. If you have high blood pressure, diabetes or an auto immune disease then you would be high risk for covid. Stay safe and continue to social distance, wash hands and wear a mask.
