I'm a 16-year-old male. i get hot flashes many times a day during both day and night. they last anywhere from 10 seconds to around 5 minutes and cause my head and neck to sweat and sometimes turn completely red. what could be causing this?

See a dr: Hot flashes occur when hormonal fluctuations work on your nervous system to cause warmth, sweating & skin redness. In a teen male, causes may include stress, anxiety, thyroid dysfunction, testosterone drop, androgen suppression and testicular cancer. Certain medications/supplements may also cause hot flashes such as niacin, green tea extracts, steroids. See a dr to do a comprehensive workup
