A member asked:

When i was arouind 6 i had an accident where i fell unto glass into my palm. i injured my ulnar nerve now my 4th and 5th digits are flexed with strength and muscle loss in the whole hand. is there surgery that can fix this or is it too late?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Can see hand surgeon: Old injuries to nerves many years ago generally are not fixable. Sometimes, surgery can be done to loosen (release) tendons or muscles that have contracted after an injury. Sometimes a hand surgeon can move a tendon or two to make the hand and fingers function better. One or two visits to a hand surgeon can answer such questions.
