A member asked:

So my son's grommets fell out, what now??

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: One of the primary goals of a set of grommets is to allow the middle ear to air out & re-establish normal tissue function. Grommets are supposed to fall out (range 6 mo to a year or so). If the kid starts having middle ear infections again back to back another set may be reasonable, but not automatic with the 1st episode. Head growth decreases the need year over year.
