Hi .my son had grommets about a month ago . i saw a black shiny thing in his ear but was not there when we got home he is currently sick and that ear was draining.will he need to get another grommet in that ear ?

Hard to know: You are unlikely to see an ear grommet unless you have special equipment & know how to use it. Drainage from an ear with a grommet is rather common if the kid is sick. Whether or not your kid needs anything is best determined by an exam with his doc.
