How long do grommets last? they were inserted 10 years ago but the right one just fell out now with a large amount of wax. is this normal? hx of bilateral grommets since 2 years old. tympanoplasty with ossicular repair 14 years ago in the right ear.

Usually removed: after two years although practices vary and it depends on the underlying problem promoting their placement in the first place.
