Get a night guard.: Bruxism, or grinding of the teeth at night, is quite common. It can wear down your teeth as well as contribute to TMJ syndrome. If you are only 34 and your teeth are affected already, i highly recommend the night guard to prevent further damage. Those teeth have to last you a long time!

Night guard: I would recommend you to go with what your dentist says. If it has been diagnosed that you grind your teeth and you have also noticed thinness in your teeth then you should start using night guard immediately to further stop damage to your teeth. If you wait too long you may develop collapsed bite or sensitive teeth.

Night gaurd: You should be tested for sleep apnea first. Do you snore or wake up non refreshed. Having hypothyroidism makes you more at risk for sleep apnea, and also the grinding. Seek out a dental sleep medicine dentist or a sleep phasician.
