My fasting plasma glucos was 82 mg/dl.glucose after 2hour of breakfast is 78 and sample hba1c is 5.5%.is this 5.5 shows that i am on borderline of becoming prediabetic or perfectly normal?age is 30 and bmi is about 22. i am worried.precise answer pl.

Normal: These glucose & A1C readings are all in normal range, & a low BMI of 22 should keep you at low risk of developing type 2 diabetes if you maintain that healthy weight & stay active . If you have a strong family history of type 2 diabetes you still may want to have labs checked about once a year.

Normal: Nondiabetic range is 4 to 5.9%, Pre-diabetic range is 5.9 to 6.4%, and Diabetes is associated with A1C level greater than 6.4%.
