Prediabetes: Hi. There are 3 ways to diagnose prediabetes: fasting glucose, glucose tolerance test, and A1c. Your A1c meets criteria for predaibetes, but your fasting glucose is normal. Your BMI puts you at very low risk of type 2 diabetes. Note that type 1 can occur at any age and has a more indolent onset at your age than with children. First, see if labs are reproducible. If so, check type 1 autoantibodies
