A member asked:

Can valtrex cause a yeast infection? thank you

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Valtrex should not: Valtrex is an antiviral and does not alter our bacterial flora (the bacteria we live with in or on our bodies). A person may get yeast overgrowth if there is an alteration in the body, such as increases in skin moisture, high blood sugar, decreases in beneficial bacterial flora, lowered immunity, etc... A drug that stops viruses should not have such effects and should not alter yeast amount.
