See your gyn.: Yeast infections are due to a fungus called candida which is normally found in the vagina. However, if there is a lack of healthy vaginal bacteria it can lead to overgrowth of yeast. Some causes of overgrowth: antibiotics, ^ estrogen (pregnancy or some birth control pills), malfunctioning immune system, diabetes mellitus as well as friction against vaginal tissues (intercourse) and douching.

Maybe: Yeast is a normal organism found vaginally. A yeast infection occurs when the yeast "over grows" due to some change in the vaginal environment. Antibiotic use is the most common reason for this change. Diabetes is another (more serious) reason. See your family doctor or gynecologist if thaws infections are frequent.

Several factors: Several factors can cause chronic yeast infections- 1. Local balance of normal flora is disrupted, typically from the recent user of antibiotics; 2. Impaired immunity- this may be due to steroid use or having other illnesses such as hiv; 3. Misdiagnosis of symptoms in the absence of yeast from testing- adverse drug effects can be mistaken as a yeast infection. Consult your gyn or id specialist.

Probiotics: Anything that causes irritation to the vaginal tissue can cause a shift in the normal flora. This includes intercourse, bike riding, bubble baths, and even nylon vs cotton underwear. Probiotics and/or yogurt with active cultures can help rebalance. Consider being checked for medical conditions such as diabetes if your symptoms persist.
