A member asked:

How much does a person's body temperature change throughout the day and how far either way can it deviate from 98.6 and still be considered "normal"? when does it typically start rising and when is it at its peak during the day?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Varies: The typical nadir or bottom level is in the early morning hours while the peak is usually in mid afternoon. This would be standard for those who usually bed down at night but would be different for shift workers. Around 97 would be an expected core bottom and around 99+ for the top. Vigorous work often brings the top above 100 F.
