A member asked:

I get little bumps all over when my body temperature changes drastically. normally after gym or when i have been out side in the snow. what are they?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Goose bumps: These are goose bumps . We call it pilo erection. This a vestigial ( or not useful anymore) reflex seen in other animals also. Caused by the contraction of muscles at the base of each hair. In animals like cat, it make them appear bigger and furious so that it could scare the enemy away. For us , we don't have that much body hair , so vestigial.
