Throughout my life, my body temperature has been about 96.6. what does it mean that my temp is significantly outside of normal ranges?

Not much usually.: Hypothyroidism can be the cause of low body temp. If that is not your problem, many people normally run a low temp. 98.6 is just the median range for a normal temp, many people are above and below that.
