Possibilities: The most common blister producing illness would be chickenpox(varicella) which tends to come out 1st on the face & neck. Blisters come up in crops of a half dozen or so and change evolve from tiny bumps to blisters to open & dry in a day. Various strains of coxsackie virus can also produce blisters on the face but seldom the back.
