Doctor can examine: Lower right abdominal discomfort can be from many things. For pain there, appendicitis is always a concern (pain usually worsens over time, with fever coming on). If one is constipated for several days, stool can back up all the way to the right and cause pain. Gallstones, kidney stones, or ovary problems (women) can also cause pain. One's primary care doctor (or ER if happening now) can evaluate.

Additional advice: Agree with the first answer. Just want to add: if the pain becomes more severe or does not go away soon with ibuprofen or if you have fever, nausea, vomiting or the pain shifts to other parts of your abdomen, you need to be evaluated by your fa,ily physician or ER.
