Different: Everyone is different. Cant tell you how long- that is 5 a day on average for the last 18 days. I think it is time to look into the cause of pain, instead of just taking advil (ibuprofen). Please contact your doctor and investigate the cause of pain

Time to see your Doc: The dose makes the poison. Five 200mg tabs a day is very different from five 600 or 800 mg tabs a day. GI bleeding seems like a greater concern short term. But with a history of VP shunt, hydrocephalus and headache, you may need to be rechecked to make certain your shunt is working, and that there is nothing that needs different treatment present. See your MD ASAP. No need to suffer.
