You would likely feel better from the acute infection anyway, but the klack of a sustained blood level would leave you at risk of strep complications.

No: You need to take a penicillin for 10 days to prevent the sequella of a strep throat. Ampicillin will be eliminated 6 hours after being given. One shot of benzathine penicillin which is long acting will work.
