Amp & gp B strep: If the strain of strep is sensitive to ampicillin, you should start feeling better in couple days, but it's extremely important to finish the entire prescription to prevent the development of resistant bacteria. If the infxn is getting worse, see doc again for re-evaluation.

10 days: Group b strep soft tissue infections are treated with 10 days of penicillins for cure. Women in labor who are colonized with group b strep are treated with penicillin during labor until delivery to prevent infection in the baby.
