A member asked:

Have been taking 500mg ampicillin daily for skin/acne. okay to now take 1000mg daily to treat strep throat? should i switch antibiotics?

Yes/No: I'll answer second question first - strep throat is still 100% sensitive to Ampicillin/Penicillin/Amoxicillin, so there is no need to switch antibiotics. But yes, you do need to increase the dose. 1000mg per day would be fine, but it must be divided into four 250mg doses to be effective at eradicating the strep. Just taking 500mg twice a day or 1000mg once a day is not going to cut the cake....
