A member asked:

I have a pre-existing complex peri-anal fistula that sometimes requires surgery for drainage. i could have an abscess or i could have covid 19. problem is i cant go to my surgeon and possibly contaminate everyone if im positive or i can get sepsis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If having perirectal: pain, then get seen in urgent care/ER. If worsening, respiratory symptoms, getting sicker, then may need treatment, regardless of the source. Sepsis, has to be treated as it will get much worse.
