Can bronchitis really last this long. started as the flu now bronchitis. finishing 3rd round of anti biotics and steroids. still coughing up junk. have severe persistent asthma. how long does this take to completely heal and my asthma to calm down.?

Inflammation: It may takes weeks to months to recover. The mucus should be sent for culture, since secondary bacterial infection may occur. An asthma action plan including pulmonary function testing and a chest image is advised. A virtual consultation may be useful to you and your PCP. Inflammatory changes may be treated with steroids and a LABA/ICS combination may be used to treat uncontrolled symptoms.
