Diagnosed w bacterial infection (sore throat & flu sympt) cough is getting worse (times) and now chest and upper back pain. doesn't feel like asthma.

Mgt/workup: Since you have had a bacterial or flu like illness, the cough may be a result of bronchitis, pneumonia or inflammation of the lung/lining of the lung. I would suggest a pulmonary function test if it does not improve within three weeks.
