Some basics: Breads of any type, but specifically wheat flour, contain carbohydrates that are readily converted to sugar. These can be part of a balanced diet & consumed regularly with no impact on diabetes risk. However, diets rich in carbohydrates can lead to weight gain & tax the bodies ability to make enough insulin. As such they can also contribute to adult onset diabetes.
