I took 5 mg ambien. my apple watch tracked my sleep. for about 30 minutes into my first hour of sleep my heart rate fell to 42. then it jumped back up and remained in the 60s. did ambien cause this? now im scared of this med.

2 things: First let your doc know about your findings. It might have also been a technical issue with your watch that misreported your heart rate and having your heart rate rechecked without taking your ambien may give you the answer, specifically if you check manually also if possible and compare the values.

When sitting still, Apple Watch heart rate jumping from 90bpm to 39 to 80 to 45 etc within seconds. Only stays at low bpm for 5 seconds or so. Usually stays around 70-80bpm but then will start to have quick dips before stabilizing again. Concerning?
