Im 35 years old and ive been having a spasm in my heart.sometimes this is together with a shooting pain down my left arm, or into my lower back on the left. am i able to go straight to a cardiologist or do i have to go to a gp first?

ER can evaluate: A person with chest and left arm pain and is worried about her heart usually goes to the ER to be checked for a heart attack. Most people in their 30's do not have a cardiologist. That means not waiting at home to see if it becomes a bad heart attack. It could turn out to be a lung problem, a bone or muscle problem, a nerve problem, or an acid reflux problem, but the heart attack is the scary one.
