My son has a fever that keeps coming and going.his been on zithromax for 3 days wasnt breaking the fever then went to a doctor which out him on amoxylin.this is the second day of amoxylin and the fever is stil there.

Doctor can recheck: The next step depends on the big picture, and the doctor's evaluation. The doctor will try to figure out if the fever is from an infection. If yes, then the next step is to figure out what microbe is doing the infection. Sometimes it is not possible to tell which microbe. Each medication stops a select group of microbes. So, if symptoms continue, a recheck may be needed to decide the next step.
