My son 6 years old has a fever of 38.5-40.5 his had his first dosage of 5 ml zithromax last night is this normal? because my baby 14 months had the rhino virus this week and was in hospital for a day.

5 day course: Your physician may have noted a possible bacterial infection ( ear infection, pneumonia). Treat his fever, continue the antibiotics and if there is respiratory distress, please see the acute care center. Provide hydration and typically the viral illness will resolve in 10-14 days.
