Ask ordering doctor: If one's doctor orders a lab test, his doctor has a good idea of where the test should be done. If done in a hospital, that would be the hospital lab. If done while a patient is in the ER, that would usually be the hospital lab too. If done at an outpatient lab location, the sample is taken at the outpatient location, but the test might be done at a central location for that lab company.
