Sure: There are hundreds of millions of people who are vegan and live a diet of fruits and vegetables. They include grains in their diet, but the main premise is not eating animals or animal products except breastmilk for babies and toddlers. A person just needs to be wise enough about nutrition so not to be missing something important in his or her diet.
