Stressful idea: There are lymph glands scattered throughout the body that enlarge while they help clean up infections. This includes within the lungs. Just like those that you feel in your neck after sore throat they show up some times with pneumonia. Common things happen commonly. It is a stretch to go to the cancer label.

Maybe inflammation: A follow up imaging test may be indicated, and the growth, size and appearance of the nodule are important factors. The clinical evaluation will also consider family history, smoking history and exposures. Please see a Pulmonologist, if the nodule is growing or has a concerning appearance.

Too early: Make sure you stick with same doc, ideally a pulmonary specialist. Only follow up will be needed at this point, aCT scan may be needed at some point for clarification. Some infections heal with a scar that may be interpreted as a nodule. All findings should be evaluated in dynamics from first scans and in clinical context.
