Girlfriend has two small cuts on her arm, spaced ~2cm. noticed them yesterday at lunch, were bleeding. they are no longer bleeding, but surrounding skin is slightly inflamed. cause unknown. should we worry it could be a bite (rabies)?

Rabies: Rabies is a zoonotic infection caused by Lyssavirus. Raccoons, bats, skunks and foxes high risk bites. Domestic dogs and cats less likely, but more incidence of infection noted from animals along the Mexican border. Worldside: 35 to 50 thousand deaths/yr. In U.S. less than 2 cases per year.
