My daughter is 21 months. however she isn't talking... at 12 months she was able to say basic words like mama, baba, tata but now she's completely quiet she only cries. should i be worried?

Yes: Normal babies can say "dada" around age 1 year, but there can be several months variation among babies. The doctor will ask what a baby is saying, at each check-up visit, to keep track of the progress at the 12, 15, 18, and 24-month-old check-ups. If there is a loss of skills over time, that is worrisome and the doctor can take a closer look... and refer to a specialist if needed.
