Possibly delayed: At 2 years, one would expect a toddler to 2-4 word sentences, have a vocabulary of 50-100 words, understand and be able to follow a two step command, and be understood by a parent. These are general guidelines, as speech development can vary in certain situations, such as bilingual households, multiple siblings, etc. Excessive pacifier use has been linked to delayed speech development as well.
