Get it from bad luck: Each time a person uses antibiotics, there is a chance that the toxin-producing C. difficile bacteria will overgrow to the point of causing diarrhea symptoms. Any antibiotic can do this. The way to avoid it is to not get sick, meaning not need antibiotics. Definitely avoid antibiotics unless absolutely necessary. That means having good luck and working closely with one's doctor.
