Doctor can check: Rashes and spots are difficult to describe in words. Generalized rashes may be eczema, part of an allergic reaction, an infection, etc... "Generalized" means the rash is all over the body. Bluish or purplish spot may be blood spots and may need blood testing. Sometimes, spots have unknown causes. A primary care doctor (pediatrician) can examine the rash and the patient, to find a treatment.

Possible cause: One possible cause is eczema, and application of moisturizers and a low dose of steroid cream three times daily may help this condition. Avoid over immersion of the skin in water and scratching the surface of the skin. Allergic triggers are sometimes associated with eczema. Your PCP will provide additional information.
