A member asked:

For old people. do you need to take shingles vaccine every year?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: The current Shingrex vaccine is given in 2 doses, 2 to 6 months apart as a one time event. This newer vaccine differs from the old one in that it has no living virus. It is recommended to those who have had the old Zostavax shingles vaccine as it is more effective & has long term protection lacking in the older vaccine.
