A member asked:

I'm not 50 or older. i've had chronic cases of shingles for the last 17 years. can i still get the vaccine ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Never heard of this: I would first go to a dermatologist and or infectious disease specialist. I have never heard of this happening. If true, you have a worrisome immune system.I would only get a living vaccine like the zoster vaccine after you have been cleared to do so, otherwise you may face significant complications. Not all blister producing disorders are shingles.
