What would you recomend my 7 year old son to take for constipation, it has been 3 days, he says its very hard and sore to come out. i have given him plenty prunes & water over the weekend and started with lacson syrup yesturday, he still hasn't gone?

Hard to know: Constipation can be a brief occasional event or a years long battle. It is influenced by natural bowel rhythm, diet, the kids stooling pattern as well as other issues. Without a review of all factors and exam it is hard to plan a treatment. The most common reason for treatment failure is failing to treat long enough. He may need an enema & bowel washout. Discuss this with his doc.
