CONSTIPATION ...? : She doesn't need anyone of the things you are doing. Before 4 months even no water. If breast feeding, remember, she can have a bowel movement every 5-7 days or 5-7 times a day, both normal. If formula fed, needs evaluation for 'hirschsprung disease', where, there is absence of ganglion cells in the colon segment, causing constipation. Talk to her pediatrician asap. No experiment please! good luck.

Evaluation: Is indicated. Is the baby a male/female? Did the baby have a meconium stool in the first 48 hrs of life? If not, the baby needs to be evaluated. Is the baby eating well and gaining weight the baby will benefit from seeing the doctor to ensure the anal opening is in the proper place, is of the proper size and may need a biopsy to r/o a disease called hirschsprung dz.
