Some basics: The rash of scabies is a combination of factors. The mite burrows under the skin disturbing it. The body also reacts to mite feces left in the burrows with an allergic rash. Clearing requires both death of the scabies & a calming of the allergic response. The process can take weeks. A warm bath increases itching, cool water does less.
