Treat the scabies: Scabies needs to be appropriately treated by eliminating the mite responsible for the itching. If your itching it not improving, i recommended being re-evaluated because you may need additional treatment. For temporary itch relief, try keeping your cream in the fridge. Application of a cold cream can help ease itching temporarily.

Treat the source: Scabies is a challenging problem to treat. Not only do you need to use the proper cream (ie: Elimite or permethrin) for the proper amount of time, you need to treat the source by washing all clothes, linens, towels, anything in contact with your body in hot water. Anything not washable needs to be sealed off for 3-5 days so the mite does not reproduce. Ivermectin is an oral medication.
