Water intake: You may have been misled about water needs. If kidneys, heart, lungs and liver are healthy, there is no health need to drink any more water (or other non-alcholic fluids) than satisfy thirst. Any more is an urban myth. In hot weather, especially with physical activity, it's easy to get behind water needs -- drink extra. Otherwise nobody needs 3L daily. If leg swelling continues, get a check-up.
